Карл Фаберже (1846-1920) родился в семье ювелира Густава Фаберже, который в 1842 г. основал в Петербурге собственное дело – магазин золотых и бриллиантовых вещей с небольшой мастерской. Фаберже получил блестящее художественное и коммерческое образование, с 1865 работал на фирму отца, с 1872 – глава фирмы. 
Первую золотую медаль фирма получила на Всероссийской выставке художественно-промышленных товаров в Москве в 1882 г. Затем следуют высокие награды в Нюрнберге (1885), Копенгагене (1888), Нижнем Новгороде (1896), Стокгольме (1897). Всемирная выставка в Париже 1900 г. стала ее триумфом . Парижская гильдия ювелиров присвоила К. Фаберже звание мэтра, а правительство Франции наградило орденом Почетного Легиона. 
В 1885 Фаберже удостоили самой высокой награды – званием Придворного Поставщика Высочайшего Двора Российской Империи, с 1890 г. он Оценщик Кабинета Его Императорского Величества и Почетный гражданин, в 1910 г. – мануфактур советник и придворный ювелир.

Серебро 88 пробы, русское пробирное клеймо 88, клеймо изготовителя "К.Ф" фирмы К. Фаберже, вес изделия 66,3 гр. Дерево, серебро, эмаль гильошированная. Размеры: 9,3 х 9,3 х 5,8 см. Карл Фаберже (1846-1920) родился в семье ювелира Густава Фаберже, который в 1842 г. основал в Петербурге собственное дело – магазин золотых и бриллиантовых вещей с небольшой мастерской. Фаберже получил блестящее художественное и коммерческое образование, с 1865 работал на фирму отца, с 1872 – глава фирмы. Первую золотую медаль фирма получила на Всероссийской выставке художественно-промышленных товаров в Москве в 1882 г. Затем следуют высокие награды в Нюрнберге (1885), Копенгагене (1888), Нижнем Новгороде (1896), Стокгольме (1897). Всемирная выставка в Париже 1900 г. стала ее триумфом . Парижская гильдия ювелиров присвоила К. Фаберже звание мэтра, а правительство Франции наградило орденом Почетного Легиона. В 1885 Фаберже удостоили самой высокой награды – званием Придворного Поставщика Высочайшего Двора Российской Империи, с 1890 г. он Оценщик Кабинета Его Императорского Величества и Почетный гражданин, в 1910 г. – мануфактур советник и придворный ювелир.
